The Valencian holding company NUOVA SESAC has taken a further step in its business model guided by social, economic and environmental sustainability by setting up SELEV BIOGROUP, a new group of companies specialising in the sustainability of bio-waste and the circular economy.<\/p>\n

In the words of the CEO, Miguel Cases Monterde,with this new group we want to provide companies with a new way of demonstrating their environmental commitment and their CSR<\/em>. We were convinced that both the union of our companies and having an integral vision of all the activities would allow us to create synergies between all of them and our clients in order to take advantage of resources in a more efficient, responsible and sustainable way in time<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n

Solutions for a sustainable life<\/strong><\/p>\n

SELEV BIOGROUP offers integral and advanced solutions for the regeneration of biowaste. A model based on the 3R\u2019s (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle), providing them with a second life and generating new business opportunities.\"We collect, transport, separate and reincorporate bio-waste into the economic cycle, adding value<\/em>\u201d, adds the CEO.<\/p>\n

For example, the group\u2019s companies globally manage organic waste generated by the food and agriculture industry, in supermarkets, in the HORECA channel, and even in residents\u2019 associations and in their own homes. Each of these bioresidues is treated in our plants to give them a new value and convert them into raw materials for animal feed, renewable energies (UCO for biodiesel, biofuels or biomass), biogas or products for agriculture (fertilizers), among others.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis integral vision allows us to favour a perfect industrial symbiosis between our own companies and our clients\/suppliers to demonstrate that an industrial development that respects the environment and the available natural resources is possible<\/em>\u201d, comments Miguel Cases Monterde.<\/p>\n

Saving CO2 emissions into the atmosphere<\/strong><\/p>\n

The activities of SELEV BIOGROUP can reduce the carbon footprint that bio-waste can generate on the climate if not properly treated.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe avoid incinerating biowaste, which would mean using twice as much energy, as well as burying it, which would mean expelling twice as much methane, which is even 21 times more harmful than CO2<\/em>\u201d, adds the CEO.<\/p>\n

pecifically, the current volume of operations of SELEV BIOGROUP allows savings in emissions into the atmosphere of 320,000 tons of CO2 per year. \"We estimate that in two years we could be talking about a figure close to 400,000 tons, as we are receiving a lot of interest from companies to implement our new model of biowaste management and circular economy<\/em>\u201d, concludes Miguel Cases.<\/p>\n

Finally, the companies that are part of the new group, which has its own tax structure, are SELEV PET INDUSTRY<\/strong> (collection of sandach 3 and manufacturer of proteins and fats for animal feed), BIOCOM ENERG\u00cdA<\/strong> and BIOCOM CUENCA<\/strong> (advanced biodiesel manufacturers), REMITTEL<\/strong> (collection and management of used and organic oil), MAVASER<\/strong> (collection of oils and sandach 1 and 2) and TEVA TANK<\/strong> (Logistic storage).<\/p>\n
